Our quest for lightweight performance led us to an exceptional partner: Maxon Group. Globally recognized for their motors used by NASA on Mars, the Swiss engineers designed the BIKEDRIVE AIR system for Spherik.

What makes this motorization unique for our electric assist bikes:

  • Unbeatable power-to-weight ratio: The complete drive unit weighs only 1.9 kg, while offering impressive thrust whenever you need it.
  • Record efficiency: The Maxon system is designed not to waste energy (85% efficiency). By being more efficient, it allows us to use more compact batteries while still offering surprising range. You ride longer, with all the necessary power.
  • Natural feel: Thanks to friction-free technology, you rediscover the pure pleasure of traditional pedaling when the motor is off or above 32 km/h, without any mechanical hindrance.

 

3. Materials science: Torayca carbon for power

To build e-bike frames capable of handling high power while remaining ultra-light, we chose the global benchmark: Torayca HM (High Modulus) carbon fibers.

The use of T-700 and T-800 fibers allows us to create frames 25% to 40% lighter than aluminum, without any compromise on strength. Thanks to NANOALLOY™ technology, we optimize impact resistance so that your bike is as robust as it is high-performing, absorbing vibrations for maximum comfort, even on your longest rides.
